What will I be doing as an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor?

We will support you to obtain a professional qualification in the long term, but you will gain first class on-the-job experience in your role fully supported by line management and the wider network of skilled colleagues in the business. The Early Careers Development Programme allows you to start your career and get paid as you learn.

A day as an Apprentice QS can look like:
  • Applying best practice to our commercial processes to help maximise returns in terms of profit.
  • Using your keen eye to identify and drive out any redundant costs
  • Supporting with the preparation and closure on monthly invoices looking at variations, claims, and any disputes.
  • Learning how to conduct project financial forecasts
  • Becoming the go-to-person for our and wider contractual, commercial, regulatory procedures

What are we looking for?
  • Enthusiasm for your chosen career path
  • You will need to have 5 GCSEs A*-C (9-4) or equivalent qualifications which should include English and Maths. Along with A-levels or equivalent at level 3 with roughly 112 UCAS points but may vary depending on apprenticeship and further education /higher education provider.
  • Ability to travel or drive to remote site locations
  • Ideally some exposure to a construction/engineering or working environment
Our degree is delivered by 1 week block releases (4 in total) by Nottingham Trent University. (Accommodation and expenses are paid for by us). We have worked closely with the university to ensure our apprentices will be delivered an industry leading, quality, degree apprenticeship.
