Pixie pre-school locatedat Shillington Lower School, are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, andmotivated individual to join their friendly and supportive team. Pixie pre-school is located in the village of Shillington, and is part of Shillington Lower School. The pre-school provides provision from 8.45-3.30pm Monday-Friday in a welcoming and child-focused environment.

To be considered for this role you need GCSE grades 4 orabove in Maths and English. For the right candidate, lower grades will beconsidered but will require you to undertake functional skills as part of yourcollege course. As a Level 3 Apprentice Early years Practitioner, you will begin by spendingtime based solely in the Pixie pre-school to get to know the staff, children, parents, anddaily routines. You will work closely with qualified team members to developyour understanding of how the pre-school operatesand how to support the children's individual needs.

As you settle into the role, you will take on more responsibilities, includingworking, when required in our EYFS classroom. Roles include helping with theday to day running of the room, preparing snacks, supporting lunchtimeroutines, and setting up engaging, age-appropriate activities for childrenacross all age groups. You will start to lead activities such as story time, phonics and songs. You will also take part in maintaining a clean and safeenvironment, including tidying up after activities, sweeping, hoovering, andgeneral cleaning duties shared amongst the team.

Candidates who can demonstrate confidence in leading play activities andengaging positively with young children and colleagues will be well suited tothis role.

You will attend Bedford College as part of your apprenticeship training, withthis being a paid day release.

Pixie pre-school and Shillington Lower school is committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils who attend. The successful candidate will besubject to an enhanced DBS check and will be required to undertake andsuccessfully complete safeguarding, medical as part of this role.
