C1 Mobile Library Driver

Job description

We are looking for an experienced 7.5t Category C1 Mobile Library Driverto work on behalf of Hillingdon council.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys driving, working with the public and being part of a community service .
The Role You will drive a mobile library along set routes and timetables while also supporting customers with day-to-day library services.
You will be required to:
Safely drive and operate a large mobile library vehicle

Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any faults

Operate the wheelchair lift safely

Welcome and assist members of the public

Shelve books and keep the mobile library tidy and well presented

Deal professionally with complaints and challenging situations

Follow safeguarding, health & safety and other relevant procedures

Requirements Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement

Driver CPC & Tachograph

Previous experience driving a large vehicle

Good level of physical fitness for moving trolleys and boxes of books

Good customer service and communication skills

Basic IT skills, including email and Windows

Good standard of English and Maths

Confident and resilient when dealing with the public

Enhanced DBS check covering both adults and children (which will be applied for if successful)

Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm £18.50 per hour
