Internal Sales Team Leader – Building Materials
You're already training the new starters, running your own book and covering the branch manager's desk when he's not there. None of that comes with a title yet.
This one gives you the title, the authority and the money for exactly what you're already doing.
THE CLIENT
If you're an experienced internal sales professional in a builders' or trade merchant environment right now, you already know the pattern: you carry the branch, you train the people under you, and somehow the promotion that should be yours keeps going to someone else. This is a genuine way out of that cycle. A well-established, multi-branch trade merchant business, backed by a substantial national group with a genuinely entrepreneurial way of running its branches, is looking for someone exactly at your stage to stop waiting and just take the step up.
THE ROLE
This is a proper player-manager role, not a watered-down assistant title. You'll keep running your own accounts across the East of Scotland, dealing directly with contractors and housebuilders, while also leading and mentoring a small, early-career internal sales team and deputising for the branch manager whenever he's out. Real authority, from day one, not a title with none of the weight behind it.
THE CANDIDATE
You've come up through a builders', timber, plumbing or similar trade merchant background, sales-led rather than pure operations, and you've already got the product knowledge and the customer relationships most people spend years building. What you don't have yet is the job title and the leadership responsibility that actually matches what you're doing every day. If that's you, this was built with you in mind.
THE REWARDS
