What the role covers

Trowers & Hamlins is recruiting a Senior Associate for its Energy and Sustainability team in London. The posting offers permanent, full-time employment with hybrid working. Advice covers energy projects and retrofit programmes, utility regulation and contractual arrangements for infrastructure procurement and operation.

The associate will advise developers, landlords and operators on heat network procurement, negotiations and management. This includes concessions and supply agreements, outsourced services and regulatory compliance. Other work concerns solar and wind projects, battery storage, utility connections and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

The role also advises on power purchase and heat supply agreements. Retrofit work includes grant-funded programmes and subscription arrangements. Client relationships and participation in marketing to the energy sector form part of the appointment.

Applicants need four years of relevant post-qualification experience, gained in private practice or in-house. Experience of utilities regulation, energy projects and heat networks is required. The firm asks for technical ability, commercial awareness, an excellent academic record and the ability to handle bespoke documents.
