Junior Data Engineer - AWS - SC Cleared

Excellent opportunity for a junior Data Engineer looking to take the next step in their career on a multi-year central government programme.

We're looking for enthusiastic Data Engineers to join a large-scale data and analytics programme, working with modern cloud technologies and helping to build secure, scalable data platforms.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in data engineering who wants to develop their technical skills, take on greater responsibility and gain exposure to technologies including Kafka, Terraform and Java .

Due to the nature of the roles, active SC clearance is required.

You don't need to be an expert in every technology. The team is happy to support cross-training and upskilling for candidates who demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals, a willingness to learn and the ambition to progress.

What you'll be doing

Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data-processing services.

Developing solutions using Python, SQL and potentially Java.

Working with AWS and cloud-native data platforms.

Gaining hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, streaming data and event-driven architectures.

Learning and applying Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

Supporting ETL/ELT processes, data transformation and integration.

Contributing to CI/CD, automated deployments and production support.

Collaborating with experienced engineers and architects to develop your tech
