We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Support Worker for a 3-bedroom children's home in Milton Keynes, specialising in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role is crucial for someone with a passion for making a significant impact in the lives of young people, providing them with the support and care they need to thrive.

Senior Support Worker - Children's Home (EBD)
Salary: Up to £16.60 per hour (depending on qualifications) | £50 per sleep-in | £30 per on-call
Location: Milton Keynes (MK10)
Shift Pattern: Long day into sleep-in | 173 hrs/month | 4 sleep-ins/month | 6-8 on-calls/month

What you'll be doing:

Provide care and support to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational well-being.

Lead by example and guide a team of support workers, promoting a safe and nurturing environment.

Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with other professionals.

Manage challenging behaviours effectively, using de-escalation techniques and maintaining a calm and supportive environment.

Participate in the planning and execution of educational, social, and recreational activities.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and contribute to the home's overall management and strategic direction.

Maintain accurate records and reports as required.

What you'll need:

Proven experience in a similar role within children's residential care, particularly with EBD.

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)

Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with EBD.

Excellent leadership skills and the ability to mentor and motivate a team.

Resilient and patient, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.

Enhanced DBS certificate, subscribed to the Update Service
