Lighthouse Futures Trust is an innovative, specialist post-16 college and charity based in Leeds, supporting neurodivergent young adults aged 16 to 25. The Trust works with learners who have learning disabilities, autism, and social, emotional or mental health needs. We have a clear mission to help young people develop the skills, confidence and the independence needed to progress into sustainable paid employment.

The Trust delivers bespoke employability pathways.

As a Job Coach you will develop positiverelationships with students, ensuring the programme helps to fosterself-confidence, alongside social and employability skills, tailored to meetindividual needs ensuring interns make successful transitions into paidemployment. You will maintain positive relationships with employers onsite andcreate strong partnerships. You will play a crucial role in ensuringhigh-quality service delivery, building strong relationships with employers andexternal agencies, and ultimately, empowering your interns to achieve theircareer goals.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Job Coach will support all aspectsof the learner's journey on a Supported internship including preparing andworking with employers, liaising with parents and carers where appropriate andsupporting the young person through each stage of the programme.

Plan and deliver high quality innovativeand engaging sessions and Employability workshops to ensure the interns widerunderstanding of the work of work is embedded throughout and cover othersessions as required.
• Ensure interns gain confidence, feelsvalued and builds self-esteem as well as developing work-based skills.
• Collaborate with SENCO and widercolleagues to set, monitor, review and record progress at all times for eachintern against personal, EHCP and work-based targets on LFT based systems asrequired.
• Develop wider independence skills forthe interns to ensure they can lead fulfilled lives e.g. travel training,banking and finance, social events and social groups, health and well-being andself-advocacy.
• Provide and coordinate support in theworkplace to enable them to be successful in their individual roles includingresponsibility of planning and delivering inspiration days and inductionactivities.
• Develop positive relationships withemployers including work buddies and support them to work successfully witheach intern and help them build confidence in their daily interactions withinterns.
• Ensure each intern has highest chanceof employment through liaison with the host employer and other employers tosecure paid work for each intern.
• Ensure students are safe at all timesthrough appropriate risk assessments and following safeguarding procedures andpolicies at all times.
• Deliver all the above to the higheststandards at all times and have regard to the SI SIQAF which will be used tomeasure quality.
• Liaise with external agencies andpartners as appropriate and in a professional manner.
• Professionally represent LFT atevents, conferences, exhibitions and meetings to contribute to the ongoingpositive reputation of the college
• Always have very high regard for theinterns, seeing their strengths and talents and be ambitious for their futures.
• Complete relevantpaperwork to ensure the students placement runs as effectively and efficientlyas possible throughout their internship e.g. risk assessments, IPRA, PEEPs,support plans, employer induction/on boarding paperwork.

Establish and maintain professionalrelationships with employers, external agencies and colleagues
• Represent Supported Internships at events andmeetings when required and promote within your allocated employer site.
• Andany other duties that may be required to help drive forward the vision ofLighthouse Futures Trust and ensure that students remain at the forefront.
