Job description
An experienced internal sales expert with nowhere left to progress?
Ready to take that first step into inspiring and managing a small team?
Looking for a friendly, red-tape-free working environment?
THE CLIENT
A business that keeps building projects moving, getting site teams the right kit at the right time so crews are working rather than waiting.
Its customers range from a one-man contractor with a van to a developer with a hundred plots on the go. They keep coming back because the phone gets answered, the people know their stuff and problems are sorted the same day.
Behind that sits a billion-pound group, which gives you the security and stability a standalone business can't offer, yet day to day it feels nothing like a corporate. It is a close, family-feel team where people know each other.
Because it is part of a wider group of businesses in different parts of the country, the ceiling is far higher than one site would suggest. People who do well are not stuck in one seat: there are real openings to move across the group as it grows, and being the person who stepped up first gives you a head start.
THE ROLE
Your first team to lead, and the chance to show you were always the right person for it.
You're already doing the job without the title. You run the desk in all but name, you're the one the new starters come to, the one who sorts the order nobody else could, and you're still waiting for the title and the pay that goes with it. Now the title is yours: Internal Sales Team Lead.
You keep selling, because that is what earns a team's respect and it is the part you love: customers who need answers fast and results you see the same day.
Around you, a small team starts picking up the way you handle a difficult buyer, win back an account that had gone quiet and land the orders they would once have missed. Watching that happen, and knowing it came from you, is a different kind of satisfaction from hitting your own number.
Your ideas count for more here too. Spot a better way to quote, to follow up or to bring a lapsed account back and you can put it in front of the people who decide, try it, and see it change how the branch sells rather than watch it die in an inbox.
ABOUT YOU
You are already good at this. Customers ask for you by name, and you can take a buyer who wanted it yesterday and have them smiling by the end of the call.
You might be an Internal Sales Executive, a Senior Sales Advisor or a Branch Sales Advisor, and the people you look after value someone who knows the product and gets it sorted.
Your credibility comes from doing it well for years, and you have started to notice that your best work now is helping others do it too. You'd like your personality to count for as much as your sales figures.
THE REWARDS
£40,000 basic salary, with a bonus of up to £10,000 on top, taking your earnings to around £50,000 once you are established.
