SEN Teaching Assistant | Portsmouth | School SEN Support | £80-£100 per day | ASAP Start

Reeson Education is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for ASAP opportunities across Portsmouth, Hampshire, supporting pupils with additional learning needs in school.

This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity is suited to someone who notices what helps a pupil engage and can provide consistent support throughout the school day.

Working pattern: Supply and longer-term opportunities, depending on vacancies. Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may work in a mainstream school or specialist provision, with the age group and support needs explained before placement.

Support individuals or small groups with learning activities set by teaching staff.
Reinforce instructions using agreed communication strategies, prompts and practical resources.
Help pupils follow routines and take part in lessons and wider school activities.
Follow individual support plans and report observations about progress or wellbeing. What We Are Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant

Relevant experience supporting children or young people with SEND in education, care or another setting.
A patient SEN Teaching Assistant who builds trust and follows school guidance carefully.
Good communication, teamwork and awareness of safeguarding responsibilities.
