Job Details

• Job Title: SEND Class Teacher
• Location: Fieldstone School, Devon, TQ13 7EP
• Salary: £39,000 per annum (not pro rata)
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
• Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
• Start Date: January 2027

About the Role

At Fieldstone School, we support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

As a SEND Class Teacher, you will have the opportunity to help students overcome barriers, rediscover a love of learning, and achieve success in an environment tailored to their individual needs.

Your Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, adaptive lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that foster student engagement and progress.
• Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment where students can thrive.
• Utilize a therapeutic and relational approach to support behavior and wellbeing.
• Balance academic teaching with pastoral support and personal development.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for students.

What We’re Looking For

• A valid teaching degree.
• Experience in primary education.
• A strong interest in SEND and SEMH education.
• Understanding of the importance of relationships in supporting learning and behavior.
• Resilience, adaptability, and a solution-focused mindset.
• Creativity, patience, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive as part of a supportive team.
• A valid driving license.

Fieldstone School is an independent day school dedicated to supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in society, aged 5–16. Our students may struggle to access mainstream education due to various challenges, including behavioral, emotional, or educational difficulties.

We are committed to ensuring that every student reaches their full potential, both academically and personally. Our day school provides an alternative to residential education, helping students develop independence, social skills, and resilience while remaining in their home environment.
