HGV Class 1 Driver – Warrington, Cheshire
People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Warrington, Cheshire .
This is a fantastic opportunity offering £220.00 per shift, guaranteed minimum shift pay, weekly pay and ongoing work with a leading logistics business. Drivers will complete trunking and drop-and-swap duties using curtain-sided trailers on a four-on, four-off shift pattern.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver or HGV Trunking Driver.
Shifts

• Four on, four off shift pattern
• Afternoon/evening starts between 15:00 – 17:00
• Early morning starts between 01:00 – 03:00
• Night shift pay based on a 10-hour shift

Rates of Pay

• £220.00 per shift
• Night shift rate based on a 10-hour shift
• Guaranteed minimum shift pay
• Weekly pay

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

• Driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing trunking and drop-and-swap duties
• Operating curtain-sided vehicles and trailers
• Securing loads using straps where required
• Taking photographs to document successful deliveries
• Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
• Reporting customer concerns promptly to management
• Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance issues
• Complying with drivers' hours, tachograph and road transport regulations

Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Minimum three months' HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsements, including DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• Flexibility to work the advertised shift patterns

Desirable Experience

• Previous HGV trunking or drop-and-swap experience
• Experience operating curtain-sided trailers
• Previous experience securing loads using straps

Training Provided

• First-day driver assessment
• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
