Class 1 HGV Driver – Normanton – Temp to Perm Location: Normanton
Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour
Hours: Approximately 11–12 hours per shift
Start Time: 08:30–09:00 for preloaded runs
Job Type: Temp to Perm
Nights Out: Occasional, with parking paid through a Snap account
ABOUT THE ROLE Recruit A Driver is recruiting an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver for a temp-to-perm opportunity with a well-established client based in Normanton.
The role involves transporting worktop surfaces to customer sites across the UK, including Newbury, Thurrock, Bury St Edmunds and Worcester.
You'll be operating curtain-sided trailers, with worktops secured on A-frames. Some runs are preloaded, while others require drivers to load the vehicle themselves.
THE ROLE Complete nationwide deliveries using a Class 1 curtain-sided vehicle

Ensure worktop surfaces are correctly secured and transported safely

Load the vehicle when required

Carry out daily vehicle safety checks

Complete delivery paperwork accurately

Maintain good communication with customers and transport planners

Comply with Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations

REQUIREMENTS Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence

Ideally 2 years' Class 1 driving experience

Ideally 25 years of age or over for insurance purposes

Ideally fewer than 6 penalty points

Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card

Valid Digital Tachograph Card

Willingness to undertake loading duties and occasional nights out

Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach

The client may consider some flexibility with the experience, age and licence requirements for the right candidate.
