Driver Hire Manchester North & Oldham are part of a nationwide network of over 100 offices providing recruitment services to the transport and logistics industry.

We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers for our client based in Rochdale. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for reliable, professional drivers looking for a long-term position.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to become permanent employees of our client after 12 weeks, subject to satisfactory performance and the client's requirements.

Key Role Details

• Position: HGV Class 2 Driver
• Location: Rochdale – applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance
• Contract: Temp-to-perm, with the opportunity to become permanent after 12 weeks
• Working Days: Monday to Friday
• Start Times: Variable, with starts as early as 3:00–4:00 am
• Nights Out: Up to 2 nights per week
• Night-Out Allowance: £25 per night out
• Pay Frequency: Weekly pay while employed by Driver Hire
• Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours per working day while employed by Driver Hire
• Pay Rates: Details to be confirmed separately

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-value items safely and securely.
• Undertaking heavy lifting as part of the delivery process.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately.
• Planning and navigating routes efficiently.
• Providing a polite and professional service to customers.
• Representing our client positively at all times.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Have previous HGV Class 2 driving experience.
• Hold a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Be physically fit and comfortable undertaking heavy lifting.
• Be capable of handling high-value items safely and carefully.
• Have no more than 3 points on your driving licence.

Training and PPE

Full training will be provided, along with all relevant personal protective equipment (PPE)
