Class 1 Afternoon Driver – General Haulage – Huddersfield Location: Huddersfield

Hours: Approximately 50 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 14:00–00:00

ABOUT THE ROLE Recruit A Driver is recruiting an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver for a well-established general haulage client based in Huddersfield.
The role involves collecting general haulage goods from commercial and industrial customers using curtain-sided trailers, finishing each shift with a trunk run to Preston.
This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for consistent weekday work, with the potential to secure a permanent position.
THE ROLE Complete general haulage collections safely and efficiently

Secure loads correctly using appropriate restraints

Operate tail lifts and pallet trucks when required

Carry out daily vehicle safety checks

Complete collection and delivery paperwork accurately

Communicate professionally with transport planners and customers

Comply with Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations

REQUIREMENTS Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence

Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card

Valid Digital Tachograph Card

Recent Class 1 driving experience preferred

Curtain-sided trailer experience preferred

Tail lift and pallet truck experience advantageous, although training is available

Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
