Development Engineer

Job description

A Development Engineer is sought to join an innovative engineering team in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, contributing to the research, development and testing of innovative fire detection technologies.

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out technical research, investigations and prototype testing
• Evaluating competitor products and alternative technologies
• Analysing test results and engineering data to support development decisions
• Conducting bench testing, fault finding and root-cause analysis
• Producing technical reports and communicating findings to engineering teams
• Working collaboratively across development and production engineering teams
• Supporting the development of robust, high-quality fire detection products

The Development Engineer, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, will have the following key skills:

• Practical engineering, product development, R&D or technical investigation experience
• Knowledge of electronics, schematics, datasheets and circuit prototyping
• Experience using Python or MATLAB for engineering analysis or test automation
• Hands-on experience with prototypes, test equipment and experimental setups
• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering or a related discipline
