We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an Oncology Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated team at Springfield Hospital. In this vital role, you will provide specialized pharmacy support to our Oncology and Haematology inpatients and outpatients, ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Your Responsibilities

As an Oncology Pharmacy Technician, you will:

• Take comprehensive medication histories from patients.
• Complete medicines reconciliation during patient admission and discharge.
• Counsel patients and their carers on medications, offering clear advice and support tools to enhance understanding and adherence.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to prepare informative materials for patients regarding their medications.
• Conduct final accuracy checks of dispensed medicines in both the Oncology/Haematology and main dispensaries.
• Support the pharmacy homecare team in managing oncology and haematology patients receiving treatment via homecare services.

Our hospital is conveniently located on the outskirts of Chelmsford, with ample free parking available. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality healthcare to a diverse range of patients, including those self-funding treatment, those with health insurance, and NHS patients exercising choice through the e-referral system.

What You’ll Bring

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Registration as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC.
• NVQ3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services.
• ACPT qualification.
• Familiarity with EPMA systems.
