Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity available which will allow the successful candidate to gain regular shifts and valuable experience within a unique environment. The Sexual Health Service based in the Garden Clinic in Slough are recruiting for a Sexual Health Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the team for a full-time post (however part-time support will be considered for the right candidate).

The Garden Clinic offers a range of services including testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and contraception services. You will be part of a friendly and dynamic team who are committed to the professional development of their staff.

Locations covered: This post is working at the Garden Clinic in Slough, but you will be required to travel to work in locality clinics in Bracknell, Windsor and Maidenhead.

Shifts pattern: Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 however flexibility may be required.

Hours may be flexible for the right candidate

Band 7

Day Rate - £24.61 per hour

The post-holder will be:

Possess a qualification in Sexual Reproductive Health and have practised for two years or more in a sexual health setting or a related service.

  • Confident and calm under pressure when working in abusy complex clinical environment
  • Able to work flexibly and show willingness to work across locality clinics
  • In possession of good communication skills
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Open minded in nature and not judgemental
  • Able to work in a highly confidential environment
  • Provide specialist nursing care and support and deputise for their line manager when required
  • Knowledge of IT system: Lillie (Desired)

Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide expert sexual healthcare without direct medical supervision, using clinical guidance, patient group directions (PGDs) and non-medical independent prescribing as agreed by the department and Trust. The nurse will use advanced assessment and specialist skills to independently manage patients attending the service.
