Requirements

To apply for this post, the you will have the following:

  • Minimum of 6 months RN UK (Private or NHS) hospital/Prison experience within the last 2 years or Completion of a Return to Practice within the last 2 years. Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices.
  • Knowledge and demonstration of the use of evidence-based care.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of record keeping
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and CHS policies
  • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
  • Carry out nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards
  • Undertake regular mandatory training

To receive referrals from various sources and provide advice and book appointments using guidelines as appropriate –

 Assess individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate plans of care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team whilst adhering to local and national policies and guidelines using advanced investigative and analytical skills. –

Triaging patients on arrival to the unit, recognising emergencies and taking appropriate action to manage patients whilst leading others to do the same. –

Undertake preoperative assessment of women undergoing surgical management of missed miscarriage, including consent taking. –

Responsibility for the correct administration of prescribed medication and dispensing of certain medications through the use of Patient Group Directives.

- Ensure prompt review of all diagnostic tests undertaken in the unit, with appropriate ongoing care plans being relayed to the patient in a timely manner –

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous documentation in line with local and national guidance, adhering to professional responsibilities regarding confidentiality and data pr

 

Phlebotomy and cannulation skills are essential
