Internal applications are invited for this new permanent post based in the Cardiology Department, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. We are aiming to recruit a dynamic, competent and motivated individual to be part of our busy and friendly CRM team. The successful applicant will primarily be working within this CRM team in the more complex area of CIEDs and EP with the training of more inexperienced staff as required.
Although the post is based in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI), there will be occasions when the post holder is required to work in the Community Hospitals within NHSG and occasionally visiting Orkney and Shetland for island clinics.
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is a large tertiary referral centre with 922 inpatient beds including the modern Emergency Care Centre; a 7 storey, state of the art facility housing a new Coronary Care Unit, a HDU, and Accident & Emergency Dept and general in-patients.
The department is staffed by 27 cardiac physiologists and 6 assistant technical officers. We have 2 catheter labs with a 3rd in the pipeline, where a comprehensive range of procedures are performed: EP (Inc 3D mapping), angiography, PCI (including 24/7 pPCI, imaging, CTO, OCT etc) PPM, ICD and CRT implants, valvuoplasty, rotablation and TAVI. In addition there is a full array of nuclear cardiology, PET and MRI investigation facilities.
