Primary Teaching Assistant (Autism Focus) – Croydon | September Start

Are you a proactive, intuitive graduate with a passion for supporting children with Autism (ASC)?

Looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before training as a Primary Teacher, Psychologist, Counsellor, Wellbeing Practitioner or SEND specialist?

Join a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Croydon this September as a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant, working closely with pupils diagnosed with Autism (ASC). This is a fantastic opportunity to build your experience in a supportive setting where your contribution will make a genuine impact every single day.

The Role:

• Start date: September 2025
• Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–4:00pm
• Pay: £450-£500 per week (paid PAYE, weekly)
• Location: Croydon, South London

You’ll provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism, helping them stay engaged, focused, and confident in class. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals, learning how to manage challenging behaviour, tailor support strategies, and develop meaningful relationships with your pupils.

About You:

We’re looking for a graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree, ideally in:

• Psychology
• Education / Early Childhood
• SEN-related subjects

✅ Experience working with children aged 4–11 (voluntary or paid)

✅ Confidence, patience, resilience and a sense of humour!

✅ A calm, positive approach when faced with challenges

✅ Aspiring teachers, therapists or SEN specialists are highly encouraged to apply
