Job Title: Early Years Facilitator

Hours: Full/part time/Freelance

Curiouser is seeking enthusiastic and creative individuals to join our team as an early years facilitator for general day-to-day group and private classes, Birthday Parties and Camps. We are a dynamic organisation dedicated to providing immersive and engaging experiences for children that blend fun with learning. We run a wide range of classes and so we are looking for anyone with a drama, arts, music, dance or general facilitation background.


Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating group/private classes to children between the ages of 6mo-6yrs
  • Learning and delivering class plans to a high standard
  • Writing class plans in line with your personal skill set and the needs of the company
  • Maintaining good customer relations
  • Contributing creative ideas to the company
  • Executing administrative tasks e.g emails, phone calls, general reception duties etc
  • Cooperating with the marketing team to execute on site tasks including shooting videos/ taking photos for social media etc
  • Working closely with the existing team in order to maintain the smooth running of operation
  • Any other tasks required in line with the job role e.g packing for classes, preparing materials, packing down and cleaning up post class etc


Birthday Parties:

  • Facilitate Birthday Parties: Lead and facilitate birthday parties for children, ensuring a fun and memorable experience for the birthday celebrant and their guests. This may include leading games, activities, and crafts, as well as ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
  • Set up wide variety of party materials
  • Deliver a range of creative art activities for children aged 1-7 with energy and enthusiasm
  • Help manage time and organise party logistics
  • Assist with smooth running of party catering and cake
  • Engage with adult guests and provide information
  • Share knowledge and help Curiouser market where necessary
  • Clean up the space and materials when required


Camps:

  • Facilitate/ assist classes during Camps
  • Our camps happen during school breaks throughout the school year for children ages 3-7 yrs
  • Facilitate pre-made lesson plans (depending on your ability) of different disciplines, these include:
  • Art
  • Music
  • Drama
  • Dance
  • Cooking
  • Science
  • Facilitate lesson plans to a high standard delivering fun and educational content to attendees.
  • Provide support to fellow facilitators during camps
  • Ensure the ratio of adults to children is kept at the proper level
  • Assist/facilitate in the smooth running of the schedule for the day
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Interact with clients and participants in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have and ensuring a positive experience for all involved.
  • Liaising with parents to inform them of what subjects were covered and how their child was that day
  • Assist with Set-Up and Clean-Up: Help set up and organise materials and equipment for classes, as well as assist with cleaning and tidying up afterwards/resetting rooms for the next lesson.


Essential Qualities:

  • Experience working with children in a group setting, such as teaching, childcare, nursery or camps
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to engage children in fun and educational activities.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • A positive attitude with a solutions-driven approach to problems
  • A genuine passion in working with children
  • Must have an enhanced DBS check with updated services
  • Profound understanding of the importance of Safeguarding children and young people
  • A bubbly and outgoing personality
  • Proactive and eagerness to learn
  • High energy to bring to every task


Preferred Qualities:

  • Background in early years education
  • First Aid certification.
  • Specialised skills such as, ability to play an instrument, magic tricks, etc.
  • Background in the arts


Hours:

Ad Hoc/ freelance work available

Best suited for someone looking to fit work around pre existing commitments.
