Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Science department across KS3–KS4 (and KS5, if applicable)
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement
  • Plan and deliver an engaging, innovative, and inclusive Science curriculum
  • Support and mentor teaching staff, encouraging professional growth
  • Monitor progress and use data to inform strategic departmental development
  • Promote a love of Science through enrichment opportunities and extracurricular activities


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a strong academic background in Science
  • Proven success in teaching Science at secondary level
  • Experience of leading or supporting departmental initiatives
  • A passion for developing teaching practice and inspiring students
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • A commitment to the school’s values and raising pupil outcomes
