Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Derby or Wrexham (accommodation provided if required)

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + car allowance + bonus + package


We are representing a leading main contractor with an outstanding track record of delivering major construction schemes valued between £40m – £130m. They are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team, supporting the safe delivery of landmark projects in either Derby or Wrexham.


The Role:

You will take ownership of health and safety compliance across site operations, working closely with the site management team to ensure all activities are carried out to the highest safety standards. This is a key role where you’ll be actively influencing safe working practices on complex, high-value projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory health & safety requirements across the project
  • Promote and enforce the company’s health & safety policies on site
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and safety briefings
  • Monitor and report on safety performance and implement improvement actions
  • Support incident investigations and recommend corrective measures
  • Provide health & safety training, guidance, and advice to staff and subcontractors
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies as required


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within construction
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and site best practice
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work on-site with occasional travel and overnight stays (accommodation provided)
