Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join our specialist team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across our three Hampshire sites, supporting children and young people aged 5–19 with a wide range of communication needs, including ASC and SEMH.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team that includes teachers, OTs, SEN professionals, and family support staff. Your work will make a tangible difference by embedding therapeutic strategies into the curriculum, running targeted interventions, and providing training and guidance to colleagues and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services across our three sites (Austen, Basingstoke, Futures)
  • Carry out assessments, develop therapy plans, and contribute to EHCPs
  • Work collaboratively with education staff to embed therapeutic approaches into classroom practice
  • Provide direct and indirect interventions for children and young people aged 5–19
  • Deliver CPD, workshops, and training for school staff, parents, and carers
  • Monitor and review student progress, adapting plans where necessary
  • Maintain accurate and professional records in line with HCPC and RCSLT standards
  • Contribute to service development and clinical governance within the Academy

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • HCPC registered and a member of RCSLT
  • Qualified in Speech and Language Therapy with experience working with children and/or young people with ASC and/or SEMH
  • Skilled in assessment, intervention planning, and outcome measurement
  • Confident in communicating complex information sensitively to children, families, and staff
  • A reflective, proactive practitioner who can work independently and within a team
  • Flexible and resilient, with excellent organisational and time management skills

Desirable Experience

  • Evidence of CPD and/or specialist post-qualification training
  • Caseload management experience
  • Experience delivering training to staff, parents, or carers
  • Membership of a Clinical Excellence Network (CEN)

Contract & Benefits

  • Contract type: Permanent (full-time or part-time available)
  • Salary: £34,434 – £54,495 (FTE), equivalent to NHS Bands 5–7, pro-rata for term time (39 weeks)
  • Hours:
  • • Term-time: 37 hrs/week (Mon–Thurs 8.30–4.30, Fri 8.30–4.00)
  • • Or full-time equivalent: 42.5 hrs/week (Mon–Fri 8.00–5.00)
  • Location: Pack Lane, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG22 5TH (with travel across 3 sites)
  • Driving licence required
