About the Role


We are looking for a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our team.


You will provide full-time individual support for a student, working closely with the SENCO and Student Support Department to help them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

What You’ll Do


  • Support one student in lessons and school activities, helping them develop independence and confidence.
  • Plan and prepare tailored learning resources and activities in partnership with class teachers and the SEN team.
  • Encourage inclusion within the classroom and on educational visits, ensuring equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Foster strong, positive relationships with parents, teachers and specialist professionals.
  • Assist with behaviour management and promote a safe, supportive environment.
  • Uphold child protection procedures and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.


About You


Essential


  • GCSEs (A–C) or NVQ Level 2 in numeracy & literacy; NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning.
  • Experience supporting children with reading, writing and social interaction needs.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • A proactive, empathetic and patient approach, with excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.


Desirable


  • Knowledge of the IB programme.
  • Understanding of ADHD and ASD, and experience working alongside specialist therapists (Speech & Language, Occupational).
  • Experience teaching EFL/ESL reading and supporting adolescent wellbeing.
