- Provide rapid-response advice during crisis situations, including pollution, fire, or contamination events.
- Deliver training and governance support for boards and directors on compliance frameworks, internal audits, and regulatory readiness.
- Advise on health and safety aspects of construction and building safety, ensuring compliance across design, development, and occupation phases.
- Integrate with the firm’s broader environmental and planning teams to offer joined-up advice on risk, liability, and ESG strategy.
What you’ll bring
- Significant experience advising clients on health, safety, or building safety regulation, ideally within a legal or regulatory context.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK health and safety law, coupled with sound commercial judgment.
- A proven ability to manage and lead enforcement, investigation, or compliance matters with confidence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to distil complex regulation into clear, actionable advice.
- A collaborative, pragmatic approach and interest in working on projects that combine public interest with commercial impact.
Why join
You’ll be part of a highly regarded, multidisciplinary team that works across planning, construction, and environmental law, offering full exposure to the lifecycle of major projects, from design and development through to asset management and compliance.
The team is known for its practical, problem-solving culture and its work on cutting-edge issues such as the Building Safety Act and emerging ESG regulation. You’ll have the autonomy to shape strategy, lead on complex matters, and contribute to thought leadership within this fast-evolving space.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute Health & Safety lawyer with at least 5 + PQE, confident in leading complex regulatory matters and investigations. They will combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering pragmatic, risk-aware solutions that support clients’ operational and strategic goals.
