Interim Assistant Headteacher - Secondary School (North West)

Start Date: January 2026

Duration: Two terms

We are seeking an experienced and resilient Interim Assistant Headteacher to join a thriving secondary school in the North West. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior leader who is passionate about inclusion and committed to making a positive impact on pupils' lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on inclusion, working closely with and line-managing a strong and experienced SENDCo.
• Safeguarding will be part of the responsibilities of the role, so previous experience as DSL would be preferable.
• Build strong relationships with staff, pupils, and families to support a positive school culture.
• Contribute to teaching and learning with a teaching commitment based on your subject expertise.

What We're Looking For

• Proven leadership experience within a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of SEND and inclusion strategies.
• DSL experience and a thorough understanding of safeguarding requirements.
• Resilience and adaptability to quickly integrate into the school community.
• Ability to inspire and support staff and pupils alike.
