Do you have experience influencing at senior levels and driving cultural change across a diverse workforce?
If so, this could be the opportunity for you…
An exciting position has arisen for a Head of Health & Safety to join one of the busiest ports and a critical gateway for trade, tourism and logistics. As part of their forward-thinking leadership team, you will play a key role in transforming how Health & Safety is embedded across all areas of the business from engineering and cargo operations to cruise, and construction projects.
Why the Head of Health & Safety position is something you should apply for:

- You’ll work across one of the widest and most diverse risk profiles in the UK, including engineering, maritime, infrastructure, logistics, and operations.
- The Port is entering an exciting period of transformation, with a strong leadership commitment to evolving culture, structure, and safety performance.
- You’ll have the chance to make a genuine, long-term impact through upcoming strategic initiatives such as safety culture programmes, behavioural workshops, and a comprehensive safety improvement roadmap.
The successful Head of Health & Safety will:
- Have a proven track record leading Health & Safety across complex, multi-risk environments such as infrastructure, transport, logistics, engineering, maritime, or manufacturing.
- Ideally hold a Level 6 qualification or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).

- Have experience developing and delivering safety culture and behavioural change programmes.
- Be comfortable operating autonomously, setting strategic direction, and supporting a growing Health & Safety team.
- Be based onsite at the Port, particularly during the initial period, moving to a hybrid model over time. Some weekend work may be required as needed.
In return, the successful individual will receive an attractive compensation package consisting of:
- 15% Bonus
- Pension: up to 10% employer contribution
- Private healthcare
