About the Company
We are working with a secondary school in Romford that is actively seeking a Teacher of Geography to join their team on a permanent basis from January. The school has a strong reputation for academic success, excellent pastoral care, and a supportive environment for both staff and students.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity and understanding of the world. You will play a key role in inspiring students, promoting a love for Geography, and contributing to the department’s continued success.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver outstanding lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to support development.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
- Participate in departmental planning, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and the wider school community.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum.
Required Skills
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Skills
- Experience teaching A-Level Geography (desirable).
- Experience in pastoral or form tutor responsibilities.
- Familiarity with current educational developments and best practices.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- MPS/UPS (Outer London) – commensurate with experience.
