Job description

The Bosco Catholic Education Trust

Health and Safety Advisor

Salary: £29,539 – £35,412 per annum

The Bosco Catholic Education Trust is seeking to appoint a passionate and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our central team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either newly qualified or looking to build on existing Health and Safety experience to further develop their career within a dynamic and growing multi-academy trust.

About Us

Bosco CET was formed in April 2017 to serve Catholic schools across West Sussex, East Sussex, and Brighton & Hove. We currently support 13 schools, with 5 more joining this year and a further 15 planned. Our mission is simple: to serve our schools so they can focus on delivering outstanding education.

If you already work in a Catholic school, then you will know they are very special places to be. Our faith is central to all we do. If you have never worked in a Catholic school or educational environment, please don’t be put off! An appreciation of the faith life of the Trust is important, but all are welcome here. You’ll soon feel very much part of the family!

About the role

As Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with the Estates Compliance Manager to support schools in managing health and safety risks effectively. You will provide advice, guidance, and training to staff across the Trust, helping to ensure compliance with legislation and promoting a culture of safety.

This is a full-time, year-round post (37 hours per week), based at our Trust offices at St Paul’s in Burgess Hill, with regular travel to schools across the Trust.

About You

The successful candidate will be a great communicator, approachable, and passionate about helping others. You will be flexible, have a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. You will have completed your NEBOSH General Certificate training, will have a good knowledge of health and safety legislation and will possess other IOSH / NEBOSH qualifications. Above all you will demonstrate a commitment to grow with the Trust and whilst experience in education is desirable, it’s not essential—what matters most is your commitment to our values and your desire to make a meaningful difference.
