Educational Psychologist

Government of Jersey is looking for an Educational Psychologist in England

Job description

Relocate to Jersey, apply psychology, engage in consultation, research and innovation.

The education framework and landscape is aligned to the UK but with fewer regulatory restrictions, providing an opportunity for Educational Psychologists to work more creatively and broadly beyond traditional approaches to assessment of individual children. This brings a significant opportunity for Educational Psychologists to be engaged in creative work across Children's Services and the wider community which will make a meaningful impact to children and families.

As part of this vision, we are on a transformational journey to develop and grow our Psychology and Wellbeing Service to ensure that psychology is at the centre of what we do, to help improve outcomes for children and young people, creating brighter futures for families across the island.

The role

This is an opportunity to help deliver a quality, cost effective service which meets statutory requirements as underpinned by the Association of Educational Psychologists (AEP), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and the Division of Educational and Child Psychology within the British Psychological Society (BPS). The role is focused on key priorities, including early intervention and inclusion, parental confidence and improved outcomes for all children and young people particularly those with SEND to create brighter futures for all children and families.

The Jersey education framework and landscape is aligned to the UK but with fewer regulatory restrictions, providing an opportunity for Educational Psychologists to work more creatively and broadly beyond traditional approaches to assessment of individual children. One of the core focuses of the service is early intervention.

Island life
