THE COMPANY

This London-based tech startup is revolutionizing how subscription-based mobile apps optimize their marketing spend. Using ML-driven insights, they help businesses reduce customer acquisition costs and maximize ROI. Backed by second-time founders with a proven track record, this is a greenfield opportunity and you’ll join as a founding engineer to build the product from scratch.

THE ROLE

As a Data Engineer, you’ll design and build scalable data pipelines to process raw, unstructured data from subscription apps. Your work will directly feed into ML models that predict marketing performance, identify data inconsistencies, and drive actionable insights. This isn’t just about maintenance—it’s about defining the tech stack, making key decisions, and growing with the company.

Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:

• Technical tasks: Cleaning, structuring, and ingesting behavioral tracking data for ML models.
• Other key responsibilities: Collaborating with a lead data scientist and marketing expert to refine feature engineering and ensure data quality.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful Data Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, ideally in startups, consumer subscription apps, or MarTech.
• Strong Python skills (certifications or deep experience with Pandas, Polars).
• Experience with behavioral tracking data (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment).
• Familiarity with dbt, Django, and DevOps/ML workflows.
• A proactive, founding-engineer mindset—comfortable defining tech stacks and making high-impact decisions.
