Operations and Project Manager
Keen AI is looking for a Operations and Project Manager
Job description
Operating in the power and utilities sector, we are an innovative UK technology company based in Birmingham using artificial intelligence and machine learning to help businesses make exceptional decisions with visual data.
Keen AI specialises in creating cutting-edge AI and systems that empower our customers to easily collect, share, and analyse critical data related to their assets, accurately assessing their condition and making informed predictions about their future state.
Keen AI is an engineering led company with a talented, efficient and focused team. We are highly regarded by our customers including National Grid, Scottish Power, SSE and RTE both for the quality of our products and our ability to deliver. As we grow, we need someone whose entire focus is keeping everything running smoothly so that we retain our ability to do this.
Right now, our CEO is balancing long-term strategy with successful project management and administration which is unsustainable. We are seeking someone to take on the project management and administrative tasks.
In this central role, you support the CEO and work closely with the rest of the team. You are here to make sure everyone has clear priorities and isn’t burdened with administrative tasks.
- Building the Roadmap: You’ll work with the CEO to take our big goals and turn them into a realistic 3–6 month plan. You’ll be the person who helps us decide what we can actually achieve and by when.
- Managing Project Delivery: You’ll own our schedules and project boards. You’ll keep an eye on deadlines, check in with the team to clear blockers, and ensure we’re actually shipping what we promised.
- Improving how we work: There are many things happening in the background which customers never see but are core to what we do. These can get neglected but shouldn’t and need to be put onto our road map.
- Connecting the Dots: You’ll run our daily catch ups, planning and retrospectives. You make sure the developers, the sales side, and the CEO are all looking at the same map and moving in the same direction.
- Executive Support: You’ll take the operational weight off the CEO—prepping for board updates, researching new tools, or managing special projects that don’t have a clear home yet.
- You’re a natural "Organiser": You get genuine satisfaction from taking a chaotic list of ideas and turning them into a clean, actionable plan.
- You’re good with people: You can hold the team accountable to deadlines and push back on the CEO’s "scope creep" while keeping everyone on your side.
- You’re a "Generalist": In a team of 10, no one is "just a manager." You’re happy to jump in and help with documentation, testing, or whatever is needed to get a project finished.
- You understand and appreciate Tech: You don’t need to code, but you’re comfortable and understand the needs of a tech company. You’re quick to master new tools and also gain an understanding of what our technology does and operates.
- At least 5 years experience in a similar role or consulting background
- Experience managing software development projects using AGILE approaches
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and content.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across the team.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving measurable impact and ROI.
- Expert level proficiency with Google GSuite Apps or MS Office
- Fluent in written and spoken French
- Remote work (with requirements to come to the office 2 days per week)
- Company health insurance
- 10 personal development days in addition to annual leave
- 22 days AL
- Opportunity to work at the intersection of the energy revolution and the AI technologies enabling it.
