As we expand our operations to meet growing global demand, we’re looking for a multi-skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dedicated manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precision assembly of specialist valves for sectors including water, energy, cryogenics, hydrogen and marine.
  • Mechanical fitting of pressure equipment, large-bore and small-scale components.
  • Basic machining tasks including turning, drilling and milling (advantageous).
  • Working from engineering drawings and instructions to ensure right-first-time assembly.
  • Supporting testing, inspection, and fault diagnosis activities.
  • Contributing to Blackhall’s high safety, quality, and engineering standards.


Skills & Experience

  • Proven hands-on mechanical experience, valve assembly, pipework, pumps, or pressure equipment ideal. Automotive mechanics equally qualified for the role.
  • Transferable trades welcome: automotive mechanics, plumbers, pipe fitters, electricians with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Machining experience (traditional/manual) is a bonus.
  • Ability to work accurately using hand tools, gauges, and drawings.
  • Reliable team player with initiative and a flexible, positive work ethic.


Qualifications

  • Time-served mechanical or vehicle apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Preferred but not essential - NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline ().
  • Full training provided for candidates with strong practical skills and the right attitude.
