Job description

Business Development Manager

Sector: Education & Training

Field-based | Regional territory | South West UK

Salary: £35,000-£42,000 OTE £12,000 (uncapped)

Our client is a fast-growing UK Awarding Organisation and established End-Point Assessment provider, partnering with over 500 schools, colleges, universities and training providers globally.

With continued growth and investment across their sales division, they’re now looking to hire a Business Development Manager to drive regional expansion and build strategic partnerships across the education and training landscape.

This is a field-based, relationship-led BDM role - focused on winning new business, growing existing customers and positioning the organisation as a long-term awarding and assessment partner.

The role

  • Own a defined regional patch
  • Grow 50–100 existing customers
  • Win new business with colleges and training providers
  • Sell TQUK as a long-term awarding and assessment partner, not a one-off supplier
  • Spend around 3 days a week on the road, meeting customers and attending events
  • Manage a consultative sales cycle (1–12 months)
  • You’re supported by sales support and customer success teams, so the focus stays on relationships and growth, not admin.

Package

  • £35,000 – £42,000 basic salary
  • £5,200 car allowance
  • £12,000 OTE (uncapped, paid quarterly)
  • Mileage paid at HMRC rates
  • Annual salary reviews and additional incentives

Benefits

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service)
  • Birthday day off
  • Annual loyalty bonus
  • Annual salary reviews
  • Bupa healthcare
  • Structured onboarding and training
  • Supportive, people-first culture with strong work/life balance focus

About you

  • Experience in B2B business development or consultative sales
  • Strong relationship builder with confidence and presence
  • Comfortable working field-based within a regional patch
  • Education or training experience beneficial but not essential

This is a unique opportunity to inherit a large number of active accounts, build long-term relationships whilst managing your own diary and pipeline.
