Commercial Finance Manager (12-month Fixed Term), Marketing/Advertising, Central London, £50-55,000

We are partnering with one of the most recognisable agencies in advertising where we are looking to hire a Commercial Manager to join their London based Finance team. The UK Finance team is a large, experienced group of finance professionals who act as trusted commercial partners to the business. The team plays a key role in enabling compliant, efficient and profitable growth, challenging the status quo and driving optimisation through technology and improved ways of working.

This role suits someone proactive and collaborative, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and keen to influence how the business operates. There is significant scope for development through increased portfolio complexity, senior stakeholder engagement and strategic contribution.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely, accurate and relevant financial reporting and insights for a portfolio of clients
• Lead revenue forecasting and budgeting, providing clear commentary on performance and variances
• Ensure compliant revenue recognition in line with accounting standards, supported by appropriate documentation
• Manage working capital effectively, maximising cash generation and escalating risks where needed
• Maintain accurate rate cards and support ad-hoc financial analysis and client requests
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, reporting requirements and local regulations
• Maintain clear documentation and readiness for internal and external audits
• Manage audit samples and lead client audits where required
• Maintain client contract summaries and ensure contractual obligations are understood and met
• Act as a trusted business partner, providing proactive commercial advice and insight
• Support pricing, contract negotiations and development of robust pricing models
• Drive improvements in profitability, utilisation and recovery through data-led insight
• Build commercial acumen across teams through guidance and training
• Contribute to the evolution of the commercial finance function
• Drive process improvement and leverage technology to improve efficiency
• Encourage collaboration, mentorship and knowledge sharing
• Support change management and adoption of finance systems
• Collaborate with regional and global finance colleagues where required

About you

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with a strong commercial mindset
• Proactive communicator able to influence stakeholders and challenge constructively
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger commercial picture
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with finance systems
• Experience in advertising, media or professional services advantageous
