Job description

Lead quality. Drive compliance. Enable growth.

Morson Nexus is seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of Quality & Compliance to lead quality assurance and compliance across training, assessment, and funded provision in construction, rail, infrastructure, utilities, and health & safety sectors.

This is a practical, operational role: you will embed quality and compliance into day-to-day delivery, lead audits, ensure regulatory standards are met, and provide strategic leadership across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead internal quality assurance (IQA), audits, and compliance reviews across all UK training provision
  • Oversee funded programme compliance (AEB, Skills Bootcamps, CITB) and eligibility documentation
  • Manage operational delivery standards across construction, rail, and other regulated sectors
  • Ensure compliance with awarding bodies, ESFA, Ofqual, and sector-specific frameworks (NSAR, RISQS, IOSH, NRSWA)
  • Operate ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 or other quality management frameworks, embedding governance in daily operations
  • Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to a small national quality team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement through feedback, performance monitoring, and corrective actions
  • Travel across the UK to support training, audits, inspections, and team collaboration

About You

  • Experience in quality assurance and compliance in education, skills, or training provision
  • Strong operational understanding of audits, IQA, and funded programme governance
  • Familiarity with ISO or equivalent quality management frameworks
  • Experience in regulated, safety-critical sectors (construction, rail, utilities, health & safety)
  • Able to balance governance requirements with practical delivery realities
  • Leadership experience managing small teams and providing guidance across multiple locations
  • Comfortable with UK-wide travel when needed as part of the role

Nice-to-have: Ofqual, ESFA, CITB, or sector-specific accreditation knowledge.

What Success Looks Like

  • Strong audit outcomes and positive feedback from regulators and clients
  • Consistent, compliant, and high-quality delivery across the UK
  • Clear, reliable assurance reporting to senior leadership
  • A small but capable national quality team operating with clarity and discipline
