Job description

O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading building contractor for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a flagship £70M+ commercial project in Central London.


This is a major cut and carve scheme incorporating structural alterations and high-spec fit-out works. The project will run for approximately two years, after which the successful candidate will transition onto another flagship London scheme within the contractor's secured pipeline.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex commercial projects across London.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager and site teams in delivering best-in-class health & safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with current UK health & safety legislation, CDM regulations, and company procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Produce and review RAMS, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Lead toolbox talks and site briefings.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to H&S policies.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate H&S documentation and reporting records.
  • Promote a positive safety culture across site teams and supply chain.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and external bodies as required.


Experience/Qualifications Required

  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects (£30m+)
  • Proven track record with established main contractors.
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential).
  • Relevant health & safety qualifications (NVQ Level 6 or equivalent desirable).
  • SMSTS (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, solutions-driven approach to site safety.
  • IT literate with strong reporting skills.
