Contract Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

Outside IR35 Consultant Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Role - £5.8k-£6.3k net earnings per month

I’m currently supporting a well-established building services consultancy in East London who are looking to bring on x2 Contract Mechanical Design Engineers for a strong pipeline of mixed-use projects.

Key details:

• Mixed-use schemes
• RIBA Stages 3/4 onwards
• 1–2 days per week in the office (hybrid working)
• IT equipment provided
• Likely outside IR35 (client-led determination)
• £45–£48 per hour
• Immediate start (targeting late February)

LTD Company Earnings Guide:

At £45–£48ph (37.5 hrs/week), this equates to approximately £7,300–£7,800 per month invoiced.

After Corporation Tax (19% - 25% depending on profit levels), this would leave roughly £5,800–£6,300 per month retained in the company, before dividend or personal tax.

They’re looking for strong design-focused engineers who can work autonomously and hit the ground running on detailed design and technical delivery.
