Role Overview

We’re an innovative, fast-growing startup with a passion for driving impactful change in our industry. Our team is dedicated, dynamic, and highly collaborative. We are seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and building of robotics and custom machinery specifically tailored for the recycling of lithium-ion batteries. This role requires a combination of mechanical engineering expertise, creativity, and a passion for sustainability.


Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

- proven experience in mechanical design, preferably with a focus on robotics and custom machinery.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Onshape, CATIA).

- Understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes.

- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Passion for sustainability and a commitment to environmental stewardship

- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with a proactive and flexible approach.


Key Responsibilities

Design and Development:

- Design mechanical components and systems for robotics and custom machinery used in lithium-ion battery recycling.

- Develop detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.

- Understanding of tolerancing, GD&T,

- Understanding of production implementation & quality control

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.


Prototyping and Testing:

- Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure functionality and performance.

- Conduct simulations and analyse test data to refine designs and troubleshoot issues.

- Implement design modifications based on test results and feedback.


Manufacturing and Assembly:

- Oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring components and systems are produced to specification.

- Assemble and integrate mechanical systems, robotics, and machinery.

- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and components.


Project Management:

- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.

- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, software, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of systems.

- Prepare technical documentation, including manuals, reports, and progress updates.


Innovation and Improvement:

- Stay up to date with advancements in mechanical engineering, robotics, and recycling technologies.

- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in recycling processes.
