We’re Hiring: HSE Manager – UK Solar PV Construction
Are you a strong HSE leader with proven experience in UK solar PV construction? We’re looking for an experienced HSE Manager to lead Health, Safety & Environmental performance across utility-scale and large commercial solar projects throughout the UK.
This is a key leadership role with real impact, driving high standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting successful project delivery across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
The Role
As HSE Manager, you will:
Lead HSE delivery across one or multiple UK solar PV construction sites
Develop and implement the Project HSE Plan in line with UK legislation and client standards.
Provide visible leadership to site teams and subcontractors.
Oversee RAMS review support, PTW systems, LOTO controls, lifting operations, temporary works, excavations, WAH, and electrical safety
Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety communications.
Conduct inspections, audits, and behavioural observations.
Manage incident investigations, including RIDDOR reporting where applicable.
Monitor environmental compliance (waste, spill control, ecology, noise/dust)
Report HSE KPIs to senior stakeholders.
Support client audits and collaborate closely with EPC, DNO, and Principal Contractor teams.
Drive continuous improvement across the UK portfolio.
✅ Required Experience
Proven HSE leadership within construction.
Direct solar PV project experience (utility-scale preferred).
Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
Experience managing subcontractors in fast-paced environments.
Essential Qualifications
NEBOSH (General or Construction) OR NVQ Level 6/7 in Occupational H&S OR SMSTS with significant HSE experience.
In-date First Aid.
Appropriate CSCS card.
