We’re working with a specialist higher education institution who are looking to appoint a Compliance Specialist to support the delivery of immigration and regulatory compliance across the organisation.


This role sits within a dedicated compliance team and plays a key part in safeguarding the organisation’s sponsorship licence by ensuring full adherence to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.


It’s a great opportunity for someone with experience in UKVI compliance who enjoys detail-led work, policy interpretation, and working closely with multiple internal stakeholders.


As a Compliance Specialist, you will:

  • Support the organisation’s compliance with UKVI Student Sponsor duties
  • Act as a first point of contact for guidance on visa processes and compliance queries
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UKVI Student Route guidance and Immigration Rules
  • Communicate technical and legal requirements clearly to staff across the organisation
  • Generate and manage Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) for new and continuing students
  • Support visa checks, registration processes and document verification
  • Monitor student attendance and engagement in line with UKVI requirements
  • Maintain accurate sponsor records and prepare documentation for internal and external audits
  • Carry out internal mock audits and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure reportable events are submitted accurately and on time via the Sponsorship Management System (SMS)
  • Respond to enquiries from UKVI and support senior colleagues with compliance reporting


What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience working in UKVI compliance
  • Strong knowledge of Student Route sponsor duties and UKVI regulations
  • Experience using the UKVI Sponsorship Management System (SMS)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex guidance clearly
  • Confident working autonomously as well as part of a wider team
  • Experience within higher education or registry environments
