Residential & Senior Support Workers – Children’s EBD Home

West Norwood, SE27

£13.50 – £14.50 per hour + £50 sleep-in rate


We are recruiting Residential Support Workers (RSW) and Senior Support Workers (SSW) for a new 3-bed Children’s EBD Home in West Norwood (SE27). This is an exciting opportunity to join a service supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and help create a safe, nurturing and structured environment where children can thrive.


Please note: Candidates must have prior experience working within a Children’s EBD Residential Home setting. Applications without this experience will not be considered.


Residential Support Workers (RSW)

Up to £13.50 per hour

Sleep-ins paid at £50 per shift

Key duties include:

  • Supporting young people with daily routines, personal care, and independent living skills
  • Building positive, therapeutic relationships with children and young people
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing, safety, and stability within the home
  • Assisting with education, hobbies, and social activities
  • Maintaining accurate records, reports, and incident logs
  • Working as part of a team to maintain Ofsted regulatory standards


Senior Support Workers (SSW)

Up to £14.50 per hour

Sleep-ins paid at £50 per shift


Key duties include:

  • Providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to support staff on shift
  • Supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy in running the home
  • Leading on care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
  • Acting as a positive role model and helping maintain a stable environment
  • Supporting staff development and ensuring high standards of care delivery


Requirements (Essential)

  • Previous experience in a Children’s EBD Residential Home
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
  • Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable young people to reach their potential
  • Ideal candidates will hold a Level 3 qualification in Childrens H&SC or be working towards this.
