Mechanical Engineer

Job description

We are working with an established and expanding mechanical contractor here in London who are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.

Operating across large-scale residential developments throughout London, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical building services installations. Due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline, they are now looking to appoint a commercially aware and technically strong engineer to play a key role in project delivery.

The Role

This position will involve taking ownership of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to completion. You will work closely with Project Managers, commercial teams, consultants, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing mechanical packages on residential developments
• Overseeing design coordination and technical submissions
• Reviewing and managing subcontractor performance
• Procurement of plant and materials
• Attending and leading site and client meetings
• Programme management and tracking progress
• Managing QA processes and ensuring compliance with H&S standards
• Supporting commercial teams with variations and cost control

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering mechanical packages on residential or mixed-use developments
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems
• Ability to manage projects from pre-construction through to handover
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of cost control
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
