Salary: Competitive + uncapped commission

The Role:


As Key Account Manager you will be responsible for managing, retaining and expanding a portfolio of existing accounts while identifying new commercial opportunities within those organisations.

Working consultatively with clients across the scientific and life sciences sectors, you will build strong relationships with decision makers and develop strategic account plans to drive long-term growth. You will present tailored digital marketing and publishing solutions, helping clients effectively reach their target audiences within the global scientific community.


This role offers the opportunity to work closely with international organisations, combining relationship management, account growth and new opportunity development within a collaborative commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage, retain and grow a portfolio of key accounts across your territory
  • Develop strategic account plans and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Present and position the organisation’s digital publishing and marketing solutions to senior decision makers
  • Identify upselling opportunities and expand services within existing client accounts
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and deliver accurate sales forecasting
  • Represent the business through a combination of virtual meetings, international travel and industry events
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Client Services and Editorial to deliver successful client outcomes
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline updates and market insights

Person Specification:


Essential:


  • 10+ years B2B sales experience within a consultative commercial environment
  • Experience within one or more of the following sectors: life sciences, scientific publishing, publishing, marketing agency, event sales, distribution or professional services
  • Strong track record of managing and expanding large client accounts
  • Consistent achievement of annual sales targets exceeding £900k
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities independently
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office and digital sales tools


Desirable:


  • Experience working within the scientific industry or holding a scientific degree
  • Experience selling digital publishing or content marketing solutions
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Monday.com or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Experience in solution-based or relationship-led sales
