Practitioner Psychologist
15-30 hours per week (at applicants discretion)
£48,500 pro rata

A well-established rehabilitation hospital set within a modern, purpose-built environment with extensive grounds is seeking a Registered Practitioner Psychologist to join its welcoming and collaborative psychology team. The service provides high-dependency rehabilitation alongside acute mental health care, psychiatric intensive care, and secure services, all delivered within one location.
Essential:
- A recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist (applications from newly qualified psychologists are welcomed).
- A trauma-informed approach to practice, with the ability to understand and respond to individuals’ life experiences.
- Experience supporting people with complex mental health presentations, including significant interpersonal difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and deliver interventions using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, systemic, or psychodynamic models.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to contribute psychological expertise to treatment planning, reviews, and risk management.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans and assist qualified staff with therapeutic activities that promote dignity, wellbeing, and recovery.
- Provide consultation, training, and supervision to colleagues, trainees, and other professionals to strengthen psychological practice across the service.
- Maintain high clinical governance standards, including accurate record keeping, adherence to professional and ethical guidelines, and participation in audit or research activity.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives by using data, feedback, and evaluation to enhance outcomes and patient experience.
- Engage in continuing professional development to maintain professional registration and ensure practice remains aligned with current research and best practice.
