Mechanical Design Engineer - plastic circular economy company

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required to join a rapidly scaling and well-funded plastic circular economy company.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work as part of a cross-functional and rapidly growing team of engineers to support the businesses' next growth phase in scaling up its operational capacity to meet demand.

Reporting into the company's Engineering Director, this role is an excellent opportunity to expand and develop your design skills to become a talented engineer in an exciting field helping in the race to net zero.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product testing
• Generate design requirements and identify risk areas
• Develop 3D CAD and engineering drawings for motor components and assemblies
• Deliver parts, assemblies, and systems from concept to proof of principle
• Experience in managing projects, risk assessment, and testing
• Work to engineering best practices and processes within the design team

Essential requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, hydrogen, industrial gas
• Industrial experience in the design and development of mechanical systems
• Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Effective communicator and multi-tasker

Desirable

• Experience or knowledge of R&D technologies
• Knowledge of power system design, including motors, transmissions, and energy storage solutions
• Able to carry out simple mechanical and thermal analyses for concept scoping
