Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Contract Opportunity

Location: Port Talbot, Wales

Rate: £40 per hour (Inside IR35)

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a site in Port Talbot on a contract basis.

Key Details:

• Rate: £30 per hour

• Status: Inside IR35

• Location: Port Talbot, Wales

Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on production and packaging machinery

• Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime

• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site

• Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure safe and efficient operations

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing, FMCG, or packaging environments

• Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills

• Experience with conveyors, packaging lines, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and pneumatic systems

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

• Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship
