Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

Turnkey building services company that specialises in the design and installation of M&E services, requires a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

The main purpose of the role is to design mechanical building services solutions for clients in areas of critical infrastructure, such as financial services, hospitals and data centres.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with client to understand their requirements and provide most suitable engineering solutions
• Assess mechanical services in existing buildings and develop suitable strategies, both short and long-term. This may include Energy Performance Analysis and Asset Replacement Reports
• Provide client with engineering recommendations and work phase plans, allowing the building to remain operational whilst works are progressing
• Produce mechanical building services designs, such as HVAC systems, chillers etc using standard industry software (AutoCAD, Hevacomp)
• Provide support to colleagues in the installation team

Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the building services industry is essential. This is a fast-paced environment and a client-facing role, working on projects in live buildings.
